Twelfth Night Gala - August 7, 2008

Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth I requests the pleasure of your company at the Twelfth Night Gala, a charitable fundraiser for the York Shakespeare Festival. The most riotous night of the year for Elizabethans, Twelfth Night celebrations involved a temporary inversion of the established social order. Servants dressed up as their masters, men like women, and so forth - a "world turned upsdie-down".

Catered by Cachet Restaurant, dinner followed by a command performance of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night at the festival site. View the Royal pictures taken at this event.
