2000 YOUNG COMPANY THE EMPEROR PENGUIN
In addition to the tour, the Young Company staged three public performances on August 8, 15 & 22, 2000 at the York Shakespeare Festival performance site at Fairy Lake. The Young Company was founded in 1999 to provide young people who have a desire to pursue a career in the arts with hands on experience as performers, technicians and theatre administrators. Some of the goals of this program included:
The Apprentice Program was directed by Co-Artistic Director, Matthew John Lundvall. A graduate of Ryerson Theatre School, Mr. Lundvall has performed in theatres across southern Ontario, including: The Ford Centre for the Performing Arts, Young Peoples Theatre, Thousand Islands Playhouse and the Brockville Arts Centre.
