On behalf of Resurgence Theatre Company and the Oak Ridges Moraine Foundation, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to our world premiere presentation of BEWARE THE FALLING TREES! This play for children was initiated by the Oak Ridges Moraine Foundation in their ongoing efforts to raise awareness about this prominent Ontario landform that crosses 32 municipalities, supplies drinking water to more than 250,000 people, and supports related agricultural, industrial, commercial and recreational uses. The future of the Moraine depends on the ability of its residents and visitors to preserve, protect and restore its environmental integrity.
Over the past month, Resurgence Theatre Company’s Senior Youth Theatre Conservatory has been hard a at work rehearsing this production as they participate in an intensive six week training program designed to prepare them to pursue theatre at the post-secondary level and eventually a career in the performing arts. Upon successful completion of the program, each participant will be awarded two credits towards their high school diploma. This program is highly process driven and has given us an opportunity to work on a play for young people with young people on stage.

The students of the 2008 Senior Youth Theatre Conservatory had the honour to meet Paul Leet Aird
Following his first viewing of the show, Mr. Aird is giving this version of his nature tale a big thumbs up. "I was very pleased, because one of the true joys of writing is having one of your stories enjoyed like this," he said. "It was just wonderful; I thoroughly enjoyed it."
